Open Day and Have a Go Day!
On Saturday 14th October, Bicester Green are opening our doors to all our friends.
You’ll get to see our amazing new purpose built home find out about volunteering opportunities with us and have a go at upholstery, woodwork, bike repairs and even help out with our cladding project!
We’ve bikes for sale as well as our mechanic on hand to repair, recondition and give pointers on all things bikes, and a warm welcome. AND as an extra bit of bike fun we’ve a environmental artist joining us to run bike customisation workshops as part of the Great British Bike Off festival!
If you’ve an old bike you want to transform, bring it along, or just turn up and get involved. It promises to be fun. www.greatbritishbikeoff.org
Plus if you are having a clear out then why not bring any unwanted bikes scooters or diy & garden tools with you and save them from going to landfill .
All ages are welcome.
There is no parking for cars on site (plenty for bikes!), please use the nearby carparks, or walk in and see us!
New premises – End April 2017
Bicester Green aim to be moving into their new premises in April (subject to lease negotiations) and hope to be available to the public as a resource again at the end of May. We will not be bigger, but definitely better or different at least. Our most important goal it to continue with out main objectives of saving waste and teaching people new skills. So it is an exciting time for us.
Please do get in touch by email: email@example.com if you would like to be a part of the New Bicester Green. We’d be happy to hear from you about what services you used and what you would like to see more of, as we have an opportunity now to be responsive to the needs of Bicester in our new premises.
Victoria Prentis MP is visiting Bicester Green.
As part of Social Saturday, co-ordinated by the Oxfordshire Social Entrepreneurship Partnership (OSEP) – Bicester Green will be hosting MP Victoria Prentis at their workshop on October 14th. She will be rushing back from parliament that very afternoon and dropping in to meet our great team of volunteers who work so hard fixing items in our workshop. As well as meeting the Bicester Green board who work tirelessly to help Bicester Green achieve its aims.
We hope she will enjoy her visit and be able to see the great work that we are doing by both saving waste from landfill, but also the strength of the team and how we share our skills with one another and with the wider community.
We run events at our workshop and out and about in the community to spread our love of fixing things and passing on our skills. See below a list of upcoming events:
Restart Parties are aimed at giving new life to broken electrical items. They were started in London and now Bicester Green volunteers are attending events around Oxfordshire to fix broken small electricals such as kettles, lamps, radios and more.
