Sustainable Bicester Day

There’s more to Bicester than you might know. Bicester Green are hosting a day bringing together various organisations providing sustainability focused goods or services to show just how much Bicester has going on. From the wonderful Nothing But Footprints and their Zero Waste Pop Up, to the yummy veg boxes of North Aston Organics, the Wildlife Trust (BBOWT), Real Nappy Bank, Delhish, Recycle for Cherwell, Bioregional Oxford, and our very own Dr Bike there’s something for everyone. More organisations will be announced before the event.

But you’ll be able to get your bike fixed, pick up organic vegetables, refill your detergents and buy all your zero waste goodies in one place, and find out more about reusing, recycling, refilling, repurposing, repairing and just how you can make a difference.

Come and see us Saturday 31st August, 10am to 4pm at the Yard.

Furniture Frenzy!

This Saturday, 10th November, we’re discounting all of our furniture items by 25%. That’s tables, chairs, mirrors, cabinets and cases, and we’ll even include lamps in that discount!

And because we’re already a little giddy with the thought of the festive period, we’re going to discount our bikes too. Open from 10am to 4pm, come and see what we’ve got, and start your Christmas shopping with us.

Saturday Opening

Starting on the 11th August Bicester Green will open the doors to the shop on a Saturday. From 10am to 2pm you’ll be able to come and browse the shop, have a look at all our makes, have a long rummage through the boxes and find yourself some treasure. And of course you’ll be able to refill your containers with our SESI liquid detergents.

See you on Saturday!

Relove featuring Repair Cafe

We are supporting Grassroots Bicester with their Relove event on Saturday 21st July. Our fabulous electrical repairer, Phil, will be on hand to look at your small electricals that need a bit of TLC. There’s lots going on at this event, so come on over to Emmanuel Church and say hi!

The Big Walk

We are thrilled that Team England of the Eden Project Communities‘ – The Big Walk – is coming through Bicester on Wednesday 30th May 2018, and they are calling in a Bicester Green! After having a look around and seeing what we get up to, we’ll all then go over to the Langford Orchard project and share in a picnic.

You can follow their progress on the website, and cheer them on their way to Bicester Green!

Eco Festival

On Sunday 2oth May Bicester Green are supporting the Holy Trinity Headington Eco Festival, from 2-5pm.

We’ll be running a ‘make something from pallet wood’ workshop and selling some of our fabulous volunteer’s fabulous makes. Come along and see us if you’re in the Oxford Area.

Open Day and Have a Go Day!

On Saturday 14th October, Bicester Green are opening our doors to all our friends.

You’ll get to see our amazing new purpose built home find out about volunteering opportunities with us and have a go at upholstery, woodwork, bike repairs and even help out with our cladding project!

We’ve bikes for sale as well as our mechanic on hand to repair, recondition and give pointers on all things bikes, and a warm welcome. AND as an extra bit of bike fun we’ve a environmental artist joining us to run bike customisation workshops as part of the Great British Bike Off festival!

If you’ve an old bike you want to transform, bring it along, or just turn up and get involved. It promises to be fun.

Plus if you are having a clear out then why not bring any unwanted bikes scooters or diy & garden tools with you and save them from going to landfill .

All ages are welcome.

There is no parking for cars on site (plenty for bikes!), please use the nearby carparks, or walk in and see us!

Victoria Prentis MP is visiting Bicester Green.

As part of Social Saturday, co-ordinated by the Oxfordshire Social Entrepreneurship Partnership (OSEP)  – Bicester Green will be hosting MP Victoria Prentis at their workshop on October 14th. She will be rushing back from parliament that very afternoon and dropping in to meet our great team of volunteers who work so hard fixing items in our workshop. As well as meeting the Bicester Green board who work tirelessly to help Bicester Green achieve its aims.

We hope she will enjoy her visit and be able to see the great work that we are doing by both saving waste from landfill, but also the strength of the  team and how we share our skills with one another and with the wider community.

We run events at our workshop and out and about in the community to spread our love of fixing things and passing on our skills. See below a list of upcoming events:

Restart Parties

Restart Parties are aimed at giving new life to broken electrical items. They were started in London and now Bicester Green volunteers are attending events around Oxfordshire to fix broken small electricals such as kettles, lamps, radios and more.
